San Francisco Boudoir Photography: Top 5 Tips For Transformation

Nothing can feel as exciting and intimidating as preparing for a boudoir photography session. But take heart: it’s also an incredibly transformative process! Here are a few things to keep in mind so you can enjoy your personal transformation.

Remember this is a collaborative process.

One of the things I love best about boudoir photography is that no two sessions are alike. We provide guidance and advice on how to best prepare for your session. You bring your unique personality, vision, and ideas to the session. We bring that vision to life and create art specifically tailored to your desires.

Allow your self to play.

Since the time we became adults, most of us have forgotten to give ourselves permission to play and have fun every once in a while. Your boudoir session is the perfect opportunity to reconnect with your playful side.

Set an intention.

There was a reason why you felt called to do a boudoir session. Whether it is a celebration, a way to move through grief or trauma, or a spicy gift for yourself or a significant other, the transformation process will be all the more powerful when you are clear with yourself about your intentions.

Get creative.

A boudoir session is a celebration of who you are right now at this point in time. There’s no better way to express that then by choosing outfits that showcase your personality. Remember, a boudoir session doesn’t just mean lingerie… Think about the things you already own that make you feel beautiful every time you wear them. This can be anything from costume jewelry to masks, gloves, or other fun props. And don’t forget shoes! These can make a bold statement all on their own.

Trust in the process.

We know the moments leading up to your session can feel a bit nerve-wracking, which is why we’ve created a beautiful, nurturing environment at our studio. While you may not feel completely comfortable during the first few shots, you’ll be amazed at how quickly you’re able to jump in the flow. As a former professional ballet dancer, I am able to gracefully guide you in and out of poses so you can relax and have fun and enjoy the process!

Now that you know our top 5 tips to a transformative boudoir photography experience, we hope you have fun planning your session. We can’t wait to talk to you about bringing your unique vision to life!
