Mira Vista Golf & Country Club Wedding Photography

It was a romantically misty day the first time I saw the Mira Vista Golf & Country Club wedding photography was on my mind. It had been a year of plentiful rain in California, and the surrounding hillsides were a bright, verdant green as I drove higher and higher into the hills. My anticipation grew with each passing minute, until I caught my first glimpse of the Old-World English Tudor mansion perched on the crest of the tallest hill. It looked like a place where Jay Gatsby would have been right at home. A tree-lined drive lead to the front entrance, past lush golfing greens and dramatic sweeping views of San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the entire bay.

My impressions of the Great Gatsby era weren’t wrong. Mira Vista began as the “Berkeley Country Club”, founded in 1920 by a group of thirteen members who wanted to create a great place to play golf and relax. Walter Ratcliff Jr., a prominent Bay Area Architect, was selected to design the club, and it has remained substantially unaltered since then, aside from an update/restoration project in 2002.

If you dream of a vintage wedding, an outdoor wedding, or a wedding with spectacular views, Mira Vista Golf & Country Club wedding photography is a great choice. Located in the El Cerrito hills, this wedding venue accommodates your wedding ceremony and your wedding reception–always a plus–so you and your guests don’t need to get back in the car! Many couples choose to hold their ceremonies outside on the glassed-in deck, overlooking a 180-degree-view of the San Francisco Bay. From that vantage point, it feels as though you are floating high above it all, on equal footing with the clouds.

Afterward, it’s time move inside for dinner and dancing. The interior of the club boasts beautiful, burnished wood detail, a huge stone fireplace, and more incredible views. Many of the windows have period details or stained glass.

There are so many ideal locations for couples’ wedding portraits and family formal photographs you might find it difficult to choose. The grounds are well-manicured and full of colorful blooms during the warmer months, and whether you’re a golf-lover or not, the greens are gorgeous, so much so that they received nation al recognition–the Award for Excellence– from the prestigious American Golf Architects Association.
