Kalona + David in San Ramon Great Gatsby Bridges Golf Club Wedding

Kalona and David’s Great Gatsby Bridges Golf Club Wedding on New Year’s Eve gave their guests a night to remember and the perfect way to ring in 2018. The energy that night was just as effervescent as the champagne and the guests brought their A-game, with a sparkling array of black and gold beaded gowns and bling. The moon was full, and so were everyone’s hearts!

Driving through the front gate of Bridges Golf Club feels like stepping back in time to a glamorous, by-gone era, making it the perfect setting for a Great Gatsby wedding. The couple chose the venue because they loved the architecture and serene outdoor setting, and also because: golf. David, an avid golf player, hit the course with his buddies the day before the wedding.

While Kalona’s mother and bridesmaids helped her get ready, the guys stepped out onto the course for a few shots together–both photographs and whiskey, that is. The groom and his attendants looked polished and sophisticated, while the women were a gorgeous, golden tableau. Kalona was stunning in an elegant ivory gown, with lacy scrollwork and beaded details, by Adrianna Papell.

Kalona arrived at the ceremony by–you guessed it–golf cart. Her uncle walked her down the aisle. After exchanging vows and rings, the couple jumped the broom. The wedding party assembled for group shots just as the final light of day faded from the sky. We were able to capture some gorgeous moonlit moments for Kalona and David’s couples’ portraits.

Guests enjoyed a luxurious steak or salmon dinner before DJ Michael Collier of Open Mike DJ got the party started with the couple’s first dance. Kalona had changed into her black and gold evening gown (echoing the color theme for the evening), with rich, golden designs. She was truly a vision on the dance floor… and when the “money dance” came on, guests flocked around to shower her with cash.

After the couple and their guests frolicked on the dance, Kalona and David cut the cake and shared a slice. Apparently the cake met their approval. “This cake is delicious,” Kalona said with a smile. At the end of the evening, Kalona chose an alternative to the wedding bouquet toss, honoring her mother by giving her the bouquet.

This beautiful couple finished their final moments of 2017 with a magical Great Gatsby Bridges Golf Club wedding shared with the people they love most. Who could ask for more? Kalona and David, may 2018 be filled with love and blessings, and may your love for one another grow with each passing year!
