April and John’s San Francisco City Hall wedding was picture book perfect; not only did the couple choose one of the most elegant San Francisco wedding venues, they really dressed the part. April arrived first, dressed in a sleeveless, flowing gown with crystal beaded details. Her groom arrived a bit later – San Francisco parking can be a challenge – in full Scottish regalia; kilts, blazer, and all of the wedding day accessories. I don’t know about you, but I am fascinated by the sporran (the decorative pouch worn at the waist) and the laceup shoes (called ghillie brogues).
Also, sporrans set off alarms at SF City Hall. Just so you know.
It was a busy day at City Hall, with a queue of brides waiting just outside the door of room 168 as the couple finalized their paperwork before their SF City Hall civil wedding ceremony. After a brief wait, the ceremony took place in the rotunda at the top of the grand staircase, overlooking the sweeping expanse of City Hall. April’s parents and sisters looked on, as did a couple of John’s best mates.
After the ceremony was over, we headed to the fourth floor for group photos and couple’s portraits. There are countless lovely details for a SF City Hall wedding photos, and the lighting is superb. The groom is quite the romantic, as you can see from their bride and groom portraits! We also took a few fun shots of the couple on the balcony overlooking the stairs, to capture the true scope of this stunning building.
To April and John, may your marriage be every bit as beautiful as your wedding day. Wishing you happiness together always!
