Debi and Ed’s Marin garden wedding was a sun-drenched community affair. It was a miraculously warm and sunny memorial day weekend in Marin County, and friends and family traveled from far-reaching destinations to attend. From the moment the couple pulled into the driveway until long after the sun went down, laughter echoed through the air of the venue, a friend’s lovely private estate.
Before the ceremony, the couple spend some private time in the guest cottage on the property. A group of close friends and the rabbi squeezed in for the ketubah signing. The beautiful handmade document was a testament to the couple’s connections and promises, and the colorful artwork was visually stunning.
Meanwhile, the rest of the guests for this San Rafael wedding assembled in the amphitheater (a place where friends often gather for various forms of entertainment) for the ceremony. There was a collective intake of breath as Debi and Ed appeared at the edge of the garden. As Debi walked the seven circles, light shone through the chuppah, illuminating it with a silvery glow.
After the ceremony, the couple snuck away for a few minutes of private time together, followed by couple’s portraits with yours truly. The gardens were expansive, with so many things in bloom it was difficult to choose where to photograph them first.
Dinner was a buffet feast, with sumptuous offerings that pleased variety of palates, served at stations in various locations. The presentation of Asian cuisine items, especially the noodles in individual containers, was really fun!
A Jewish wedding wouldn’t be complete without the hora, and this one was especially lively. After being held aloft by two groups of friends, both bride and groom got back on their feet and enjoyed dancing with their friends.
As darkness began to fall, the full moon rose overhead and the twinkle lights came on. It felt like a fairytale ending to Debi and Ed’s Marin garden wedding.
Debi and Ed, wishing you the best together always!
