Rancho San Antonio engagement photos are the perfect choice for any couple who spends time outdoors and enjoys the California countryside. If you’re someone who enjoys hiking, camping, mountain-biking, or frolicking with your dog, this South-Bay preserve may be just the spot for you.Sara wanted engagement photos in a relaxed, natural setting that showcased their easygoing personalities, so I recommended Rancho San Antonio Preserve , one of the popular Palo Alto engagement photo locations.
Sara and Ian met many moons ago while they were both in college; she was a self-described “nerdy RA” and he was president of his fraternity. Their paths happened to cross when they worked together in food service on campus, but once they both graduated they fell out of touch.
Three years ago she got a message from him out of the blue on Facebook. He asked if she lived nearby, and she told him she had thought about moving but didn’t live in the area yet. But that initial virtual conversation sparked something in both of them. They started hanging out together–long distance at first–but as they spent more time together they both realize this they share the same values and the relationship deepened.
Sara says they love being together and doing simple, everyday things most often. “We’re a basic couple,” she admits with a laugh. “We are best friends and our favorite things to do together are going for long walks, or relaxing and sharing a glass of wine.” Ian was in exercise physiology major in college, so the two also work out together.
She shares a revelation: “It’s funny to think about now, but I realize it wouldn’t have worked for us to be a couple in college. Back then the timing was just off.”
We met up for Sara + Ian’s engagement session in early fall. Northern California may not have seasons to the same extent as, say, back East… but, fall color in the San Francisco Bay Area is stunning! The golden hills and blaze of color in the trees is a perfect backdrop for photos. We caught Sara + Ian’s last few kisses just as the sun was setting behind them, which was a perfect finish to their session.
In the end, some things are simply meant to be. It just so happens that both Sara‘s mom and Ian‘s mom are originally from Michigan, and their dads grew up two minutes from each other. Things have come full circle now that Sarah and Ian are engaged and the families are reunited. If that isn’t kismet what is?
